I have an automatic answer
that comes out involuntarily
in response to the question,
How are you? At least medium.
But it’s no longer true. I am
suffering from spinal stenosis.
I walk in pain. And I wonder
will there come a day when
truth must come out. Until
then I’ll force a smile and
answer at least medium
because they don’t really
want to know and I have a
social contract that forbids
too much information, too
much truth.
