A jar got tipped over in the heavens
pouring out all this light
dripping between tree leaves
and painting the forest floor yellow.
The moving glass weaving through the valley
catches the light like a windowpane,
its depths and surface never hoarding
but taking in and sending back up
an ordinary afternoon’s blinding vision,
a bottomless well at once emptied and filled.
