[40] HomeSickness, Caroline Reddy

I wear my steampunk space suit
underneath the human skin
and step into this stringent atmosphere.

I wonder if the DNA has been decoded
as I set my heavy suitcase aside
and dream of distant planets.

I have learned that harsh moments
can be alchemized into particles of light
that unfurl from Indra’s net
to help us on our ascension.

I know that I have found the way
through sitting hours on the cushion
and dreaming vivid dreams
that led me to take a vow
as I knelt with my sword.

But
I don’t remember
if
I signed my contract
with
a black
or
a blue
pen

If I ever get my memories back and
regain a sense of time,
maybe
I can recapture the comets that I have lost
along the way
as I wave to the solar system.
