[36] Unmasked, Josef Krebs

Striking as erasing civilization may seem
An erratic eradication
Of such forlorn subjects might prove
Inequitable or indecisive
Given humanitarian urges to overcome desire for
Survival of the fittest
In terms of basic canniness
And sensible influence on others
Untested by the threat
In terms of conscious or subconscious fears
Or basic flight response
A rational reaction
To dinosaurs real or not
Of our making
Which haunt the lands in search
Of the unwary cave dwellers
Who stray away far from safety
In the hopes of finding a meal
A mate or like minded
Unmindful tribes
Equally undisguised
In their folly
