Her hand dipped into the water puddle below her. She stared at the reflection of her hand, displayed as a skeleton. She wanted to go a little further. The puddle extended to her elbow. Her smile grew wider. The water looked so beautiful. It felt warm and inviting. She closed her eyes and felt the tension leave her body.

Cries in the background, begging her to stop. She looked at him and smiled for the first time in a long time.

She fell silent and he wept.
