[29] Mistakes, Robert Bly

We could think about mistakes.
All the time we’re thinking, our mistakes
Go on eating ham, driving
Too fast past the mailbox, stepping
Outside for a breath of air.
It was that way.
I always
Wanted to kick away the old
Ladders, find a way No one had ever gone.
And now someone else goes on
Planning my life, and buying a used car
So I can drive miles to be alone.
